As a Technical Field Advisor for Controls, you manage controls activities on site during the Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of heavy-duty turbines/equipment (generator or mechanical drive). You will be responsible for reviewing plant engineering documents and P&ID’s, troubleshooting of plant systems and equipment, planning, organizing, integrating and direction of resources such as labour, tools and materials.

  • Maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements
  • Actively manage controls activities on site during Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of heavy-duty equipment, PLCs and other OEM provided controls systems (MKVIe, MKVI, MKV, ..etc.)
  • Read and interpret piping and instrument diagrams (P&ID)
  • Provide timely and accurate internal and external reports
  • Provide expert consultation on complex projects
  • Provide customers with technical direction and support on Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) packaged products

Special Role Requirements:

  • Able to travel extensively to and from projects and various field assignments.
  • Willing to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments.
  • Ability to spend considerable time away from home for training and field assignments

Skills for Success

You should have extensive Field Engineering Services experience with a solid understanding of Gas Turbine Driver Control Systems and Auxiliary Systems. You will also:

  • Strong computer skills with the ability to understand and implement controls software
  • Have the knowledge and skill to actively support field service activities and be aware of where to seek answers to questions as they arise.
  • Have experience working on successful installations and be trained on Mark VI, Mark Vie, Mark V controls systems

A formal education and subsequent University Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
