As a Technical Field Advisor for Controls, you manage controls activities on site during the Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of heavy-duty turbines/equipment (generator or mechanical drive). You will be responsible for reviewing plant engineering documents and P&ID’s, troubleshooting of plant systems and equipment, planning, organizing, integrating and direction of resources such as labour, tools and materials.
Maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements
Actively manage controls activities on site during Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of heavy-duty equipment, PLCs and other OEM provided controls systems (MKVIe, MKVI, MKV, ..etc.)
Read and interpret piping and instrument diagrams (P&ID)
Provide timely and accurate internal and external reports
Provide expert consultation on complex projects
Provide customers with technical direction and support on Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) packaged products
Special Role Requirements:
Able to travel extensively to and from projects and various field assignments.
Willing to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments.
Ability to spend considerable time away from home for training and field assignments
Skills for Success
You should have extensive Field Engineering Services experience with a solid understanding of Gas Turbine Driver Control Systems and Auxiliary Systems. You will also:
Strong computer skills with the ability to understand and implement controls software
Have the knowledge and skill to actively support field service activities and be aware of where to seek answers to questions as they arise.
Have experience working on successful installations and be trained on Mark VI, Mark Vie, Mark V controls systems
A formal education and subsequent University Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
